Treacherous Regimes Fear Their Peoples

While the world was struggling to combat the spread of the Corona epidemic, some Arab regimes were preoccupied with tarnishing and destroying history and abandoning the main cause. Those regimes decided to normalization with the usurper Zionist entity.

This move was not surprising. These dictatorial regimes which possess weapons, means of repression and terrorism, still fear the anger of their indigenous Arab peoples who all hold enmity and hate for the Zionists.

Those regimes used the soft power to find out the reaction of their people and try to change it.

2020 witnessed increasing normalization agreements. In February 2020, Morocco, Syria, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan participated with 6 films in the “Middle East Cinema” festival in occupied Jerusalem.

In addition to this, the two Gulf series “Umm Haroun” and “Exit 7”, which openly promoted Zionism, celebrated the occupation and denied enmity with it resulting in a popular upheaval. Soon after this, those behind these dramas announced normalization with the Zionist entity.

Arabi 21” newspaper published a report about the drama series that took part in that phenomenon.  In May 2020, during Eid Al Fitr concert broadcast by the Moroccan Channel 2, the Israeli musician Tom Cohen and the Israeli singer Nata Lakheyam participated. The channel viewed a promotional film for normalization with the Israeli entity, according to the newspaper.

The report added that Abu Dhabi Film Commission, Israel Film Fund, and Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film School signed an agreement of cultural cooperation in the fields of cinema and television and the establishment of a film festival, and an agreement for co-production on September 21, 2020.

At the same time, MBC removed the episodes of the series “The Palestinian Alienation” from its “Shahid” platform, although it portrays the crisis and alienation of the Palestinian people since the forties of the last century. MBC resumed the series after widespread criticism to the channel.

The report referred to the 4th Gouna Film Festival in Egypt (23-31 October 2020) sponsored by businessman Naguib Sawiris, who honored the French actor Gerard Depardieu, a supporter of Israel who represented and produced a propaganda film calling on the Jews of the world to “rediscover their historical roots “In the Promised Land”.

In October 2020, “Al-Nour” Israeli band sang the Emarati song of Hussein Al Jasmi “I love you” which was praised in a tweet of the UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura Al Kaabi.

On November 21, 2020, Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan came under fire as he appeared in Dubai with an Israeli singer Omer Adam, and Israeli actor Ilaad Tsela and Israeli footballer Diaa Sabe.

On November 28, 2020, Emirati Mohamed Al-Shehhi performed a song in the form of “duets” with Israeli singer Dudu Tasa.

On December 3, 2020, Emirati singer Walid Al-Jassim visited Israel, becoming the first Emirati singer to visit Tel Aviv after the Emirati normalization decision.

The density of artistic works and the absurd statements clearly confirmed that dictators fear their own people, and that they are well aware that despite having weapons, armies and detention centers, they cannot face the people if they unite on a cause. They are aware that Arabs, groups, and political and societal entities are still holding on to the main cause of Arabs and Muslims which is “Palestine”.
